Surfing for beginners in El Palmar
Do you want to learn to surf? Our beginner courses are all about having fun while mastering the basics and learning about this wonderful new sport. Step by step you will learn the fundamentals of good surfing at your own pace.
First we start with light gliding exercises in waist-high water (white water) to get used to the feeling of being on the board and catching waves. When you have mastered these techniques we can start to practise standing up. This stage also happens in white water.
We only take you out in the waves that are right for your level and that you feel safe in. Once you can confidently and consistently stand up in the whitewater you can move onto catching and riding unbroken “green” waves.
We also teach the following in the surf course for beginners:
- The correct paddling technique
- The right position to lie, sit and stand on the surfboard
- Trimming the board in the wave (to control speed)
- Techniques to help you paddle out with the surfboard (pushing through oncoming waves)
- Responsible behaviour in the water (surf etiquette)
- Starting to surf unbroken waves
Surf lessons in El Palmar for Intermediates
This is the real deal! Have you already taken a beginner’s surf course and mastered the pop-up in white water? Then you are ready to take it to the next level with an intermediate surf lesson in El Palmar. In this surf course we paddle out back to surf the breaking green waves.
But watch out - The feeling of riding a green wave is like nothing else and really addictive! ;-) So that you can safely go surfing without an instructor, this surf course also teaches you how to get to and behave in the line-up, meaning you will be able to surf on your own full of self-confidence in the future.
You will also learn the following in the intermediate surf lessons:
- Taking off on green waves- especially timing and position
- Surfing left or right along the wave
- Trimming and turning the board
- How to position yourself correctly and behave in the line-up
- Paddle out techniques (pushing, diving or rolling through oncoming waves)

Advanced Surf coaching in El Palmar
The surf course for advanced surfers is aimed at all those who have already mastered the take-off in the Green Wave, know the rules in line-up and now want to work on their surfing technique. With the help of a video analysis we show your individual strengths and weaknesses and work on taking your surfing to the next level.
Kids surf lessons in El Palmar
We love to teach families who want to learn surfing. We teach children from the age of eight and adults of any age – It’s never too late to try!
With a kids surf lesson in Spain, the family holiday becomes a special adventure. We provide surf equipment such as wetsuits and surfboards especially made for children for the duration of the course.
With us you don’t have to worry about the waves, we only take you out in safe, suitable conditions. Our surf coaches are all qualified lifesavers and ISA-trained instructors with experience in teaching kids – making sure that safety is as important as having fun (and of course, looking cool!) while learning to surf.

The surf courses take place at the El Palmar beach break. The beach here is a beautiful, pristine and long stretch of sand, unspoilt by development.
